Program Development

Faculty members from all disciplines can develop an education abroad program. Education abroad programs can be short programs led between semesters or during the summer and can be credit-bearing or non-credit bearing.  In some special cases, it is possible to run an education abroad program during a semester (such as within a modular degree program).  If you are interested in developing a faculty-led education abroad program, please consult with the Office of Education Abroad to learn about the proposal process, timeline and requirements. You can obtain a copy of the Education Abroad Program Development Manual by clicking here.

The Office of Education Abroad requires all student participants to complete a standard application.  The standard OEA Application for FIU Sponsored Programs can be obtained by clicking here.

Education Abroad program proposals are due on or before October 15th annually.

The Program Development Manual for Non-credit Education Abroad is currently being revised.   The Office of Education Abroad also requires all student participants in Non-Credit programs to complete a standard application.  The standard OEA Application for FIU Sponsored Non-Credit Programs can be obtained by clicking here.
